Justice.HARIHARAN NAIR. M.R.

Born in 1941 at Muttakkad in Trivandrum District.
After obtaining degree in Physics from the Mahatma Gandhi College Trivandrum, and degree in Law from the Govt. Law College, Trivandrum,  practiced as Advocate in Trivandrum courts during 1967 – 1975. 
Won the Malloor Govinda Pillai Gold Medal of the Kerala Univerisity for getting highest marks in Criminal Law in the Law Colleges  in the State in 1967. Also holds a Masters' degree in Political Science from the Kerala University.
Was selected as a Munsiff with first rank in the State, in 1975. Served the Judiciary of Kerala State in various capacities from Munsiff to District Judge from 1976 to 1999. Was CBI Special Judge at Cochin from 1987 to 1990. Also worked as Principal District Judge at Thalassery, Kottayam and Ernakulam.
Became a  Judge of the Kerala High Court in March 1999 and worked as such till retirement in May 2003.
After retirement, was Chairman of the Kerala State Prisons Review Committee of the Govt. of Kerala during 2004-2006 and was Ombudsman for Local Self Govt. Institutions, Trivandrum for 3 years till 16-3-2011. Was Commission of Inquiry into incidents at PULLUMEDU, SABARIMALA leading to the death of 102 persons in January 2011. Presently Chairman of the Kerala State Fishermen’s Debt Relief Commission.  
Voluntary services include work as Chairman of the Institutional Ethics Committees of the Sree Chithira Thirunal Institute of Medical Sciences Trivandrum  and of Giridhar Eye Institute, Cochin; and as Program Director (Legal) of the Pallium India.  Publications include articles on legal subjects in various Malayalam weeklies and on legal subjects in the Kerala Law Times.  Memoir NEETI PARVAM written in Malayalam, published by Poorna Publications, Kozhikode was released by the Central Law Minister Mr. Salman Khurshid at the Kerala High Court Auditorium in June 2012.







Admiral HARIi KUMAR. R.

Born on 12th April 1962 at Nanthancode, Thiruvananthapruam

Admiral R. Hari Kumar is the Chief of Indian Navy. He is the first Malayalee to become the Chief of Naval Staff.  Prior to his appointment as the Chief of Indian Navy, he was serving as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.
While studying Pre-degree course at the Government Arts College at Thiruvananthapuram, Hari Kumar got selection to the National Defence Academy. He graduated from the NDA in December 1981.  He completed his bachelor's degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and his master's degree from King's College London. He also holds an M.Phil in Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Mumbai.
Hari Kumar was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1 January 1983. On promotion to flag rank, Kumar was appointed the first Commandant of the Naval War College, Goa in January 2012. After two years, he was appointed Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST. In 2014, he took command of the Western Fleet. While serving as the Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet (FOCWF), he was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral. In October 2015, he relinquished command of the Western Fleet. He was then appointed Chief of the Staff of the Western Naval Command in Mumbai. On 9th October, 2021, Government of India appointed him as the Chief of Navel Staff. He took charge on 30th November 2021.
